The Office of the President-Elect has stated that the exact number of Indian troops in Maldives is currently unknown. According to Firzul Khaleel, the Interim Office Spokesperson, Indian troops have been confirmed to be present in Maldives based on discussions held between President-Elect Dr. Mohammed Muizzu and Indian Ambassador to the Maldives, Mr. Munu Mahawar, as well as other sources.

However, Firzul also mentioned that they have not yet received complete information regarding the total number of Indian troops. Additionally, there are some institutions that are not fully cooperating in the efforts to establish agreements with India.

Firzul further stated that certain details cannot be disclosed at this time, but he assured that the Interim Office is taking necessary actions based on the information they have received so far. While they are unable to make a specific decision on disclosing the agreements presently, they are actively working to address the identified issues.
