Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has congratulated the new President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu following his oath-taking ceremony.
In a message on platform X (former Twitter), the 7th President of the country, Solih wished him success as Dr. Muizzu began his term in office.
"Sincere welcome to the 8th President of the Republic of the Maldives. And, I wish you success in this beginning term of office," (Loosely translated)
The new President took his oath of office at the Special Assembly of the People’s Majlis held at the Republic Square this evening. The Chief Justice, Hon. Uz Ahmed Muthasim Adnan, administered the oath.
Following his oath-taking, President Dr. Muizzu signed the Instrument of Oath. The Chief Justice and the Speaker of Parliament, H.E. Mohamed Aslam, signed as witnesses.
After Dr. Muizzu's oath-taking as the President of the Maldives, Vice President-Elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef was sworn in today as the new Vice President of the Republic of Maldives.
