Parliament Speaker Mohamed Aslam has stated the Parliament will give its full cooperation to carry out the work of the government presided by the new President, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Aslam said this while addressing the Special Assembly of the People’s Majlis, held at the Republic Square this evening. He was speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. In his speech, the Speaker of the House, Mohamed Aslam, congratulated President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Vice President Hussain Mohammed Lateef on taking Office.

Speaking about the Special Assembly of the People’s Majlis held for the oath-taking, the Speaker of the House, Mohamed Aslam, said it was a historic session for the Republic of the Maldives and the Parliament.

During his speech, Aslam gave his assurance to cooperate with the Parliament in taking necessary actions to support the new government in accomplishing tasks that are essential for the betterment and welfare of the people.

Aslam also spoke about the works pending completion in the Parliament. Highlighting the work pending regarding the 2024 budget in his speech, Aslam assured of completing the pending works in the Parliament in the coming days.

"I assure you that we will complete the work on the budget for next year before the deadline stipulated in the Constitution of the Republic of the Maldives. The hope and desire of the people of the Maldives is that the powers of the state will work for the benefit of the people and the entire country," the Speaker of Parliament said.
