The President’s Office has commenced the process of transferring all municipal services in Male' City to the Male' City Council, following the decision made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. It was officially announced through a press statement published by the President’s Office.
As outlined in the statement, once the necessary modifications are completed, the city council will be responsible for providing all municipal services in Male' City, Hulhumale', and Villimale'. Currently, Urbanco is mandated to provide the majority of municipal services offered in phases one and two of Hulhumale’.
According to the press statement, the transfer of all municipal services to the City Council fulfills a presidential pledge made by President Dr. Muizzu. It further notes that the decision was prompted by requests from several residents of Male' city.
