Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar has said that he will conduct a study on decentralization with the participation of the people.

Speaking on a TV program, Minister Shareef said that it has been a few years since decentralization was introduced to the country. Therefore, it is important to consider the people's views towards the system should be considered, said the Minister.

The Minister said the government intends to conduct the research through Universities. The government also aims to have as many people as possible participate in it, said Minister Shareef.

"The President has also said that the government will do things along with the participation of all the people, "Adam Shareef said.

According to the Minister, the main purpose of the study is to identify whether the decentralization system is working properly. It will also help to identify changes that need to be made, said the Minister. The study will also discuss the direction in which the people want to take the decentralization system and what needs to be done to take it in that direction, said the Minister.

Adam Shareef said the changes to the decentralization system have been made without much consultation or research.
