President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye Mr M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. The meeting took place at the Presidential Guesthouse.
At the meeting, the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges congratulated President Dr. Muizzu on his assumption of office and briefed the President on the role of the Chambers of Commerce in Türkiye.
The primary focus of the meeting was to explore collaborative opportunities and investments in the trade, construction, and tourism industries. In addition, they also discussed the possibility of importing commodity goods from Türkiye to the Maldives, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing bilateral ties and cooperating in areas of mutual interest.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Türkiye were established on May 28, 1979.
President Dr Muizzu is currently on an official visit to Türkiye at the invitation of the Turkish President. First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and a high-level Maldivian delegation comprising senior government officials are accompanying the President on the visit.
