Former Majority Leader of the Parliament Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik has been elected as the Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party.
Nihan, who is the Special Advisor to JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim, won the vote for Deputy Leader of the party at the party council on Monday against Council Member Mohamed Saeed.
The Deputy Leader position of JP became vacant after Iqbal Adam resigned. Iqbal currently holds the position of Chief of Staff at the Official Residence of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
In addition, JP yesterday elected Shuaib Shifaz Sharif as the party's Youth League President and Reema Hussain (Reem) as the Women's League President.
