Home Minister Ali Ihsan announced that laborers from India, Nepal, and Bangladesh can now be brought to the Maldives.

The announcement was made at a press conference organized by the Home Ministry today. Initially, the Ministry announced last Sunday allowing to bring in unskilled laborers from Bangladesh. However, bringing unskilled laborers from other countries was temporarily suspended.

Speaking to the local media today, the Minister of Homeland Security, Ali Ihsan, announced that the borders are now open to allow unskilled laborers from India and Nepal to enter the country. He also mentioned that the Ministry is currently conducting assessments to bring in laborers from other countries, besides India and Nepal, in the future.
