There is no legal issue in the implementation of the largest housing project of the government, the Fushidhiggaru Falhu dredging and reclamation Project, President Spokesperson Mohamed Shaheeb said.

Spokesperson Mohamed Shaheeb made the statement at a press conference at the President's Office today.

In addition, Shaheeb said the government has no intention of confiscating any flat or land allocated by the previous government. There is no intention of transferring the land and flats allocated by the previous government to anyone in Hulhumale', Giraavaru, and Gulhee Falhu.

The government has started dredging and reclamation of Fushidhiggaru Falhu, also now known as Ras Male', to develop the largest housing project of the government. Within a week of the project, 10 hectares of land has been dredged.

The project, which is being carried out by Sri Lanka's Capital Marine and Civil Construction Company (CMCC), is being carried out without any expenditure from the state budget.
