President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed attended a wreath-wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to the People’s Heroes in Tiananmen Square.
During the ceremony, the National Anthems of Maldives and China were played by the Chinese Military Band. The President laid the wreath and paid a silent tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives fighting for China's independence.
