Former Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih delivered a stark assessment of the country's current trajectory, asserting that the nation's direction has slipped and derailed. Speaking passionately at the official launch of the Maldivian Democratic Party's (MDP) parliamentary election campaign at the Artificial Beach on Monday night, Solih lamented the government's deviation from the right path.

Expressing concerns over the prevailing situation, Solih emphasized the urgent need for corrective action. "Everyone can understand the situation... The direction has slipped and derailed," he asserted, underscoring the widespread sentiment of discontent among the populace.

President Solih has accused the current government of being deceitful and dishonest. He has warned that if the government continues with its current policies, it will lead to disappointment among crucial segments of society. Solih specifically pointed out the difficulties faced by fishermen, landowners, and ordinary citizens who will have to bear the consequences of the government's mismanagement.

In light of these grievances, Solih urged for a decisive victory for the MDP in the upcoming parliamentary elections. He framed the elections as an opportunity to effect meaningful change and restore the country to the right path.
