President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced a transformative reclamation project spanning 30 hectares of land on L. Maavah Island during his visit to the region. Addressing the community of Maavah Island, the President unveiled plans to expand the initial scope of the project, originally slated for 15 hectares, to encompass a total of 30 hectares upon completion.

Emphasizing the urgency of coastal protection measures to mitigate the impact of high tides on Maavah Island, President Muizzu outlined the government's commitment to bolstering infrastructure resilience and fostering sustainable development in the region.

During his address, President Muizzu affirmed the administration's dedication to reviving stalled initiatives across the country. With several major projects exceeding MVR 50 million set to commence in the coming months, the President assured residents of Maavah Island that their aspirations for island development and road construction would be prioritized.

In addition to land reclamation efforts, President Muizzu announced plans for the prompt commencement of resort development in the lagoon near Maavah, signaling a significant step towards enhancing tourism infrastructure in the region. As the government accelerates its development agenda, President Muizzu reiterated his commitment to realizing the aspirations of communities across the Maldives.
