Effective from July 15, 2024, Maldivian nationals traveling to Thailand for tourism, business engagements, or urgent work will now enjoy visa exemption for stays of up to 60 days. This new policy, announced by the Maldives Foreign Ministry, aims to facilitate easier travel for Maldivians to Thailand.
In addition to the 60-day visa exemption, travelers can also request an extension of their stay for up to an additional 30 days. However, such extensions are granted solely at the discretion of the Royal Thai Immigration authorities.
This policy change is expected to enhance the convenience for Maldivian tourists and business travelers visiting Thailand, strengthening the ties between the two nations.
