Maldives High Commission in Malaysia informs Maldivians who are stuck in Malaysia to travel within 14 days.

The statement released by the Maldives High Commission in Malaysia reads that following the changes brought to the Movement Control Order made by the Malaysian government, the ease provided to the visa arrangements has been waived. It also states that following the changes brought to the Movement Control Order, the Malaysian government has informed all the foreign diplomatic missions in Malaysia about the immigration general rules that will be effective from January 01.

According to the statement, Maldivians who had overstayed in Malaysia, as tourists with social visas or the social visit pass, can departure from Malaysia before January 14, and those who planned to stay back needs to have a valid visa.

Maldives High Commission in Malaysia has also advised Maldivians to renew visas for long-term visa carriers, which has been expired. The statement also mentions that the deadline for this is yet to confirm for this process.
