An incident of alleged assault on two Maldivian doctors has come to light following a social media post. The person who shared the post stated that last night, two Maldivian intern doctors on duty at Chittagong Medical College Hospital in Bangladesh were physically assaulted while treating patients.
The person sharing this information said that in this incident, one doctor was hit, while the other doctor was grabbed by the hand and dragged away. While sharing how the incident occurred, the person also shared screenshots of conversations between two parties. According to the screenshots, when this incident took place senior staff were also present, but they did not treat it as a major issue.
When the person who shared the story went to the hospital director regarding this matter, they said that the person who assaulted the two doctors denied the allegations and asked to show evidence from CCTV footage. The post also states that after this incident, senior staff told the two doctors to remain on duty instead of sending them home.
The post also mentions that the two doctors stayed in the store room for two hours out of fear due to these assaults.
