As of yesterday, a total of 1,386,530 visitors have arrived, marking a 10.2 percent increase compared to 1,258,120 during the same period last year.
On average, 5,524 tourists visit the Maldives daily. China is the leading source of tourists, with 202,613 Chinese nationals visiting the islands. Russia follows in second place with 149,920 visitors, while the UK ranks third with 119,189 tourists.
The Maldives boasts 1,222 tourist facilities, including 174 resorts, 881 guesthouses, 153 safaris, and 14 hotels. The government has set an ambitious target to attract 2.3 million tourists by the end of this year.
