In a recent press conference held by the President's Office, it was announced that Islamic libraries will be established in six islands, including the city. Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, outlined plans to inaugurate these libraries before the end of next year.
The first library is set to open at the King Salman Mosque in January. Minister emphasized that this facility will be designed for easy access and study, equipped with modern amenities to enhance the learning experience.
The initiative will also extend to libraries in various Islamic centers across the islands, including Gdh. Thinadhoo and R. Ungoofaaru, Ha. Dhihdhoo and Addu City. Minister Shaheem noted that this effort aligns with the government’s broader aim to promote Islamic education and guidance in the Maldives, reflecting commitments outlined in President Dr. Muizzu’s manifesto.
The establishment of these libraries marks a significant step toward enhancing access to Islamic literature and resources across the country.
