In a concerted effort to combat illegal immigration, the Immigration Department of the Maldives has arrested 16 foreigners in a two-day operation aimed at detaining undocumented workers.
The operations took place on September 24 and 25 at six cafes and hotels located in Phase One of Hulhumale'.
During these raids, officials discovered that three of the establishments were operating without the necessary permits, leading to the issuance of notices against them.
