The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has announced that this year’s Fitr Zakat will be accepted online starting from the first day of Ramadan.

According to the ministry, Zakat can be paid through designated digital platforms from the 1st to the 27th of Ramadan, while some platforms will allow payments until the last day of Ramadan.

Fitr Zakat will be accepted online via the Dhiraagu app and website, Ooredoo M-Faisaa, the Islamic Bank app, and the BML app until the 27th of Ramadan. Meanwhile, payments can be made through FahiPay and the Finance Ministry’s Bandeyri portal until the final day of Ramadan.

For elderly individuals and those unfamiliar with online payments, physical Zakat payment services will be available at the Islamic Centre during specific hours:

- March 2 – March 20: 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM (excluding public holidays)
- March 23 – March 30: 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM (excluding Fridays and Saturdays)

The initiative aims to streamline the Zakat payment process and ensure accessibility for all individuals observing the obligation.
