The Presidential Commission investigating the incident involving 21-year-old Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed, who was found injured on the rooftop of a warehouse in Malé, has announced ongoing discussions to open a public portal to share updates on the case, which has drawn significant public concern.

Yumnu was discovered with severe injuries on April 18 after reportedly falling from a building onto the roof of an adjacent warehouse. She has since been transferred to Malaysia for further treatment. The commission, established by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, announced the portal's launch at a press conference held on Wednesday.

Commission President Dr. Mohamed Munawwar stated that the portal was created to ensure transparency and keep the public informed about the investigation, acknowledging the sensitivity of the case and the public’s demand for clarity.

The portal will allow citizens to submit questions directly to the commission, and responses will be provided where appropriate. It will also provide daily updates on the commission’s activities and progress.

While reaffirming the commission’s commitment to openness, Dr. Munawwar noted that some details will remain confidential until the investigation is complete, given the criminal nature of the case.
