The Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development has begun formally notifying individuals who do not meet the criteria for flats under the government’s Housing Scheme, following a review of 4,000 applicants.

According to the ministry, applicants who have previously been allocated flats under any government housing project are not eligible for this scheme. While some of these individuals were initially included in the list issued by the former administration, the revised assessment has now disqualified them.

The ministry said the review process was conducted based on information obtained through relevant government agencies, ensuring that only eligible applicants remain on the list.

At a recent press conference, Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muththalib reaffirmed that the final list will be based on the one compiled by the previous government. However, he stressed that individuals found to be ineligible will be removed from that list, and no new list will be issued by the current administration.
