A total of 151,643 people across the Maldives have received the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive.

According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), 89,093 people have received the Covid-19 vaccine from the greater Male’ region. Out of this, 2,048 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.

HPA has also stated that so far 62,550 people have received the Covid-19 vaccine from outside the greater Male’ region. Out of this, 3,827 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.

As per the recent statistics, 5,875 people across the Maldives have received the Covid-19 vaccine in the last 24 hours.

The vaccine rollout program kicked off on February 01, with the Covishield vaccine donated by the Indian government. So far, India has donated 200,000 doses of the Covishield vaccine to the Maldives.

In addition, Maldives has also received 5,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from China. China has pledged to donate 100,000 doses of the same vaccine to the Maldives.

Today, Maldives has received 12,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, as the first shipment from the COVAX facility. Maldives received the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute of India, as the first vaccine delivery to the Maldives by the COVAX facility.
