Home Minister Ali Ihusaan has announced the seizure of drugs valued at MVR 23 million during Operation Drugs worth MVR 23 million seized in nationwide Operation Alimagu, a nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking.
Launched on the morning of the 13th of this month, the operation involved over 500 police officers simultaneously searching 100 locations across the country. According to Minister Ihusaan, the operation was based on six months of police intelligence.
A total of 110 people were arrested, and various items used by drug dealers were confiscated during the operation, he added.
