Prince Harry is likely to return to England for Prince Philip’s funeral later this month, royal commentators have said.
Although Harry, who is now based in California, is expected to return to England, it is unlikely his wife Meghan Markle will do the same because of her pregnancy.
The Duke of Edinburgh died on Friday morning just two months before his 100th birthday. In March, the duke left King Edward VII's hospital in central London after a month-long stay for treatment. According to 'The Daily Telegraph’, as the Duke of Edinburgh’s frail condition worsened overnight on Thursday, with insiders warning that he was “gravely ill”, any talk of rushing the 99-year-old back to hospital was dismissed by the Queen.
The details of the funeral, to be held at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, are being finalised but it is expected to be a very scaled down event due to the lockdown. The Queen, who is said to have been by the side of her husband in his final hours, is being comforted by her children Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.
