President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih today appointed Shifla Ibrahim as a member of the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC).
After presenting Shifla with the Letter of Appointment today, President Solih met her and discussed pertinent issues related to the broadcasting sector.
Shifla Ibrahim graduated with a Master of Arts in Journalism and Media Communications from the Islamic University of Maldives in 2019. She started her journalism career in 1999 in Television Maldives as an Announcer trainee. She worked at Sangu Television as a News Anchor until her new appointment.
The Broadcasting Commission is an independent body mandated to govern the Broadcasting Act's implementation (Law no.: 16/2010).
President Solih also appointed Ahmed Hamdhan to fill the position of Policy Secretary of the President's Office. Ahmed Hamdhan was serving as an undersecretary at the President’s Office till his appointment.
