May 08, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 590 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 439 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 151 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 09 people are positive from operational resorts, and 141 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 34,724 cases, including 8,640 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 4,014 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 210 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 25,992.

According to HPA, there are 230 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 83 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 300,664 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 128,167 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
