A fisherman from a N. Maalhendhoo fishing boat passes away while in Male’ atoll sea for bait fishing.
As per the Maalhendhoo council, the individual passed away suddenly was a 50 year old man and he was identified as Abdul Rasheed Abdul Ghafoor, council said that the information of the incident was received at 9 am today.
No further details were received by the council or from the police service.
It is very common in Maldives, fishermen without proper training or proper safety mechanism, who dive in to catch bait ending up with severe cases of decompression illness, some of which led to critical conditions.
