Agreement signing ceremony held in Addu City
Island Aviation Services Limited (IAS) and Addu International Airport Company sign an agreement on Saturday, to start seaplane service between Addu City and Huvadhu Atoll.

Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony held in Addu City, Economic Minister, Fayyaaz Ismail said that although the agreement is signed, it may take upto 45 days to start the service and in the meantime the preparation work will be ongoing to start the service.

Further in his speech, Minister Fayyaaz said that apart from seaplane service between Addu City and Huvadhu Atoll, discussions are ongoing with IAS to schedule regular daily flights between Addu City and Fuvahmulah City. He highlighted that this will be a major advantage to bring in more tourists to Huvadhu Atoll, Addu City and Fuvahmulah City.

Minister also said that there is hope to strengthen business relationships within Huvadhu Atoll, Addu City and Fuvahmulah City through the regular flights between these atolls.

Along with Economic Minister, Fayyaaz Ismail, Minister of Tourism Dr Abdulla Mausoom and some of the Parliament members representing Huvadhu Atoll and Addu City joined in the agreement signing ceremony held in Addu City.
