Since the new year, Maldives has recorded over 100,000 tourist arrivals in the Maldives.
As of January 26, Maldives has recorded 109,842 tourist arrivals. Which is 48% increment compares to the first 26 days of last year, says Tourism Ministry.
The statistics showed Russia at the top market for the year with 20,244 tourist arrivals from Russia. Followed by the UK with 10,602 tourist arrivals, and India with 9,044 tourist arrivals.
Currently 935 Tourist facilities are being operated in the Maldives.
The year 2022 will mark the 50th anniversary - the Golden Jubilee celebration of tourism in the Maldives.
Despite many challenges faced due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Maldives welcomed over 1.3 million tourist visitors for the year 2021.
