In light of increased security in Manhattan, former US President Donald Trump will travel from Florida to New York City on Monday before being arraigned in connection with payments made to a porn star before the 2016 election.

At the courts in downtown Manhattan on Tuesday, Trump—the first former US president to be charged with a crime—will be arraigned, fingerprinted, and photographed. His attorneys have stated that he will enter a not guilty plea.

The particular accusations listed in the grand jury indictment have not been made public, and Trump's arraignment on Tuesday marked his first appearance before a judge in the matter and in court.

According to an aide, the Republican politician-turned-businessman would depart from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach at noon on Monday, arrive in New York later that day, and spend the night at Trump Tower in Manhattan before showing up at the courthouse on Tuesday morning.

A court official said the arraignment is planned for 2:15 p.m. (1815 GMT) on Tuesday. Trump then will return to Florida and deliver remarks at Mar-a-Lago at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday (0015 GMT on Wednesday), his office said.
