An agreement has been signed with Urbanco to develop AA. Thoddoo as a smart island.
At a ceremony held at Urbanco yesterday, the agreement was signed on behalf of Urbanco by the Managing Director Ahmed Athif. And on behalf of the Thoddoo Council, Council president Ahmed Karam signed.
Under the agreement, Urbanco will help develop the port area, ferry terminal area, cargo warehouse and beach areas for citizens and tourists. At the same time, assistance via consultancy will be provided to make Thoddoo a smart island and assistance will be provided to establish an open access network.
Urbanco is introducing smart solutions in Thoddoo to provide technology to the people of small islands under the company's Go Beyond Hulhumale' programme.
