MNDF retrieves another balloon from the Google Loon project from the Maldivian waters.

Statement by Maldivian National Defence Force (MNDF) reads that the balloon from the Google Loon project was retrieved from Gaafu Dhaalu Vaadhoo sea.

MNDF also stated that the Google Loon project informed the air traffic control, Maldives Civil Aviation Authority, and MNDF Coast Guard about the balloon lowering as the balloon's life expired on Tuesday morning. Following the information, the Google Loon project balloon was tracked and monitored to retrieve it after fell into the Maldivian waters.



This would be the second time a balloon from the Google Loon project has been retrieved from Maldivian waters. The last balloon was retrieved, on the 29th of October. It was handed over to the google team working in the Maldives.

Google Loon project is a network of stratospheric balloons designed to bring Internet connectivity to rural and remote communities worldwide.
