Three Maldivian men abducted and held hostage in a house in capital Male’ have been freed by the police.

The three men were held in “an address” on Henveiru Abadah Ufaa Road, Maldives Police Services said yesterday. The police said that they used force to free the men from the hijackers.

As the freed men were harmed with injuries on their bodies, they were taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The police are holding an 18-year-old man and a juvenile in their custody in connection to the abduction and for allegedly causing bodily harm to the abductees.

According to Maldives Police Service, the enforcer is investigating the crime further.
