President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih officially inaugurates a brand-new soccer pitch on Maafaru Island in Noonu Atoll.
President Solih who is touring Noon Atoll as part of his “Happy and Peaceful Maldives” presidential campaign inaugurated the soccer pitch marking a significant milestone in developing sports infrastructure on Maafaru Island.
The President’s Office said that the newly inaugurated soccer pitch on Maafaru Island, layered with turf, boasts state-of-the-art amenities and facilities.
Nexta Maldives Pvt. Ltd. laid the subbase layer of the football ground, while Myna Sports Field Pvt. Ltd. installed the turf.
The President’s Office said, “These enhancements will provide an improved playing experience for athletes and sports enthusiasts on the island”.
President Solih’s administration has implemented a number of initiatives to provide modern football grounds, futsal fields, and sports courts across the atolls, says the President’s Office.
“These efforts aim to promote healthy and active lifestyles among young people and foster local athletic talent development. By providing access to high-quality sports facilities, these initiatives are helping to create a more vibrant and active community”, said the President’s Office.
