Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer has met with the High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, Munu Mahawar, today.
Following the meeting, the High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, Munu Mahawar, stated in a post on the social media platform X that productive discussions were held on enhancing the partnership between India and the Maldives.
The Ambassador also conveyed the best wishes of Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to Minister Zameer.
According to the Foreign Ministry of the Maldives, President Dr. Muizzu's government is willing to work with all the countries. However, the government will prioritize a "Maldives First" policy announced by President Dr. Muizzu.
After taking over as the Government's Foreign Minister, Zameer said he would work hard to implement President Dr. Muizzu's foreign policy. According to the Minister, the highest interest of the country and the people will always be put first in that endeavor.
