According to President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu’s presidential promise, the cost of finishing the Housing 'Hiya' flats borne by the flat owners will be repayed to them, Urbanco said.
Urbanco has said this in response to reports that it will not pay the cost of finishing the flats.
Urbanco, however, has denied the allegations.
Urbanco Managing Director Fazul Rashid said the government will fulfill its promises to the residents of the Housing 'Hiya' flats. He also reassured that the money spent on the construction of the housing flats will be repayed to the owners.
During the second round of the presidential election campaign, Dr. Muizzu stated the people who moved to the Housing 'Hiya' flats faced great difficulties when the government of President Solih did not complete the finishing works. Therefore, the government will pay MVR 2 lakh to the owners of the flats to compensate them for the finishing work, stated Dr. Muizzu.
