Since the border reopened on July 15 to December 23, records show that 142,210 tourists have arrived in the Maldives.

As per the Tourism Ministry records, 1701 tourists arrived in July, 7628 tourists arrived in August, and in September 9,538 tourists arrived in the Maldives. The records also show that 21,515 tourists arrived in October, and in November 35,759 tourists arrived in the Maldives.

As per the Tourism Ministry, the top source market for tourist arrival was Russia with 26,555 arrivals, followed by India with 23,858 tourist arrivals. The United Kingdom stood third with 16,987 tourist arrivals. Other top source markets include U.S.A, Germany, United Arab Emirates, France, Ukraine, Spain, and Kazakhstan.

The records also show that currently 24 International flights are in operation to the Maldives, and 05 more flights are on schedule to start operation to the Maldives.

On December 20, the maximum number of arrivals on a single day was recorded, with 5,555 tourist arrival.

The Maldives reached the milestone of 500,000th tourist arrival for the year 2020 on December 17, and till December 23, Maldives has reached 525,057 tourist arrivals for the year 2020.
