Former Parliament Member of Addu Hithadhoo South Constituency, Ali Nizar called to take action against the Political party Adhaalath, for not letting women compete in the leadership roles.
Nizar said this in regards to a tweet of the President of the Elections Commission Ahmed Shareef. In his tweet, Shareef said that since the beginning of the Adhaalath Party, only men can compete for the President and the Vice President of Adhaalath, as per its constitution.
Following which, in a tweet, Nizar said that if women cannot compete as the President of the Adhaalath party, and if it continues, action should be taken against the party.
In regards to this, many have shared their concerns against the constitution of Adhaalath for women not being able to compete at the leadership roles of the Adaalath Party.
Meanwhile, the Adhaalath Party has recently announced its congress to be held on January 12.
