Tourism Minister Dr Abdulla Mausoom said that there is hope in reopening the guest houses and other tourist facilities in the greater male’ area by early November.
Minister Mausoom’s tweet to announce the reopening of the guest houses and other tourist facilities, he mentioned that we only need to keep the positive cases to a minimum 5% for 2 weeks straight.
Along with a higher number of Covid-19 cases in the greater male’ area, to control further spreading, the Health Protection Agency of the Maldives has introduced a series of guidelines along with closure of Hotels/guesthouses and other tourist facilities in the greater male’ area.
The Maldives reopened its borders on July 15 since then resorts and hotels on uninhabited islands as well as liveaboard vessels were allowed to host tourists.
