January 7th, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 21 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded includes 17 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 04 people infected outside the greater Male’ area.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 13,988 cases, including 694active cases to Covid-19 recorded within the last 24 hours.

So far, HPA has taken 333,836 test samples for Covid-19, while HPA has taken 2,715 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 13 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 13,238.

According to HPA, there are 44 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 49 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
