The prolonged power outages in Addu City will be resolved within the next 48 hours, according to Fenaka Corporation Managing Director Major (Retd) Mohammed Najah.
Residents of Addu City have been experiencing power cuts for over a week, with outages occurring for an hour at different times each day. Addressing the issue, Najah stated that spare parts have been procured with assistance from Stelco to repair the faulty generators.
The outages were caused by malfunctions in five generators, according to Fenaka. Najah confirmed that one generator will be restarted soon with the newly acquired spare parts. He also noted that as electricity demand is expected to increase during the upcoming Ramadan period, efforts are underway to secure additional parts to restore two more generators.
