Parliament member Ms Rozaina raises concern for accusing frontline workers as robbers from the criticism received towards the audit report.
The audit report showed corruption involvement in the food arrangements made for the frontliners working at the Emergency Operation centre. The food arrangements were made by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The expenditure for the food arrangements ran up to a 5.9 million Maldivian Rufiyaa as per the audit.
For the audit report, a lot of people raised their concerns along with referring the frontline workers at the Emergency Operation centre, as robbers. In regards to this, Parliament member Ms Rozaina said that it is not robbery for spending 160 MVR on per head, per day to arrange food for over 1700 people working whole day at the Emergency Operation centre. She also added that the people who are working at the Emergency Operation centre have left behind their own family and kids to serve the nation at this critical time period, and instead of appreciating them, accusing them as robbers for eating food is unacceptable and cheap.
Ms. Rozaina further extended appreciation towards everyone who is working at the time of the ongoing crisis.
