The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Parliamentary Group Leader, Nazil, criticized President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's recent presidential statement, claiming it was almost identical to last year's address.

Speaking at an MDP rally on Thursday night, Nazil argued that the statement simply repeated previous promises and included more falsehoods.

Nazil pointed out that key issues, such as the alleged missing sea areas and the situation concerning foreign troops in Maldives' islands, were notably absent from the presidential address. He accused the government of neglecting to address these important matters, which he believed should have been included in the statement.

He further claimed that the public, particularly the people of the Maldives, were not deceived by the government's rhetoric. According to Nazil, the government came to power by misleading the population, and the people would not forget the promises made during the campaign.

Although he had not listened to the full presidential statement, Nazil expressed his dissatisfaction with the portion he had heard, reinforcing his criticism of the government's approach.
