1.8 MW generator delivered to Addu City last month
Fenaka Corporation has announced plans to bring an additional generator to Addu City in an effort to resolve ongoing electricity issues.

According to Fenaka, a 1.8 MW generator is scheduled to arrive next week. This follows the delivery of another 1.8 MW generator in February, which was installed and put into operation. At the time, Fenaka had assured that the new generator would help stabilize the city’s electricity supply.

However, residents of Addu City continue to face frequent power outages, particularly during Ramadan, leading to widespread frustration. Many have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction.

Fenaka has been working on multiple solutions to mitigate the crisis, including improving ventilation at the city’s power plant to enhance generator efficiency.

Addu City requires 12 MW of electricity during peak hours, while the power station in Hithadhoo houses 20 generators with a total capacity of 26.8 MW. However, generator failures in recent years have contributed to the worsening power situation, prompting the need for additional resources.
