The Covid-19 positive cases reported from Addu City have reached 76 in total.

Addu Emergency Operation Center has reported additional 07 cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours. As per statistics, Addu City has 32 active cases, and a total of 44 infected people have already recovered.

So far, 2,754 Covid-19 test samples have been taken in Addu City and there are 399 people identified as direct contact to positive cases. In addition to this, a Covid-19 positive person is receiving further treatment at the hospital and 122 buildings/homes have been quarantined.

There are currently two Covid-19 clusters in Addu City. Out of which, the first person who tested positive from the Aviation cluster was two employees from Maldivian, who participated in a training conducted by the Aviation Command. Following this, 46 participants from the training were tested to Covid-19 as well.

With the increase in positive cases from Addu City, the city has been placed under monitoring and the restriction measures have been strengthened with a curfew, mandatory wearing masks, and mass gatherings held on pause.

As per Addu Emergency Operation Center, 4,765 people across Addu City have received the Covid-19 vaccine in the last 24 hours.
