According to Velana International Airport (VIA), the largerst number of tourist arrivals to the Maldives in a single day has been recorded on 18th of September, since the border reopen on 15th July.
A total of 708 tourists arrived in the Maldives on 18th September. Ever Since the recontinuation of flights by Russia’s Aeroflot, a majority of Russian tourists have arrived in the Maldives. On 18th September, Russia’s Aeroflot carried 335 passengers while Emirates carried 153 passengers and 121 passengers arrived from Qatar Airways.
Meanwhile on the same day Etihad Airways, Turkish Airlines, Sri Lankan Airlines and the Maldives national airline, Maldivian landed with more passengers, and a total of 597 passengers departed from the Maldives on the same day as well.
