The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has placed Kaafu atoll Gulhi Island and Maafushi Island under monitoring upon the detection of the Covid-19 case.
As per the information received, a pregnant lady tested positive to Covid-19 from Gulhi Island, meanwhile from Maafushi Island, a person with flu-like symptoms was tested positive to Covid-19.
Both Gulhi and Maafushi islands are currently placed under monitoring for contact tracing and case investigation. With the monitoring status, HPA has restricted travel to and from the island.
In addition to K. Gulhi and K. Maafushi, there are 15 islands placed under monitoring.
