May 04, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 601 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 440 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 161 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 19 people are positive from operational resorts, and 141 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 31,931 cases, including 6,508 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 4,552 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 126 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 25,340.

According to HPA, there are 181 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 74 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 298,396 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 114,240 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
