May 21, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 1603 additional cases of Covid-19. But HPA has not released any details of the pending results from backlogged pending samples taken earlier this month.

The total positive cases recorded include 1,025 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 578 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 07 people are positive from operational resorts, and 571 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 52,405 cases, including 21,079 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 6,320 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 794 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 31,197.

According to HPA, there are 286 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 120 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
