France has added Algeria and Morocco to its list of countries deemed high-risk COVID-19 zones as it battles the fourth wave of infections.
The decision to place Algeria and Morocco on the French "red list" of countries where the coronavirus is highly active was taken by the health ministry in Paris.
As per the Health Ministry in Paris, from Saturday onwards non-vaccinated travelers arriving in France from Algeria and Morocco will have to prove that their trip is essential, they will require a recent negative Covid test, and must accept a 10-day quarantine.
French health authorities reported on Wednesday that the number of patients in intensive care units for COVID had risen above 2,000 for the first time since June 14, as the Delta variant puts renewed strain on the hospital system.
